So what kind of snake was it and how did it taste??

So I'm guessing that the drinks you've crossed out are due to religious observance. I respect that. What about insects? I mean if you're gonna eat head cheese...

It was rattlesnake at a Brazilian grill. It's hard to describe how it tasted. I know it's what everything tastes like, but I would say it was somewhat like a gamy chicken. Cross that with a little gator flavor mixed in and some spices (it was in sausage form), and it was actually pretty good.
The drinks were for religious reasons, but insects...I don't know that I could do that. It's more the though than the fact that they would be disgusting. It was the same reaction I had when I had to eat an entire deep fried shrimp in Japan. It's just a giant insect and it took me about 20 minutes before I finally ate it. The head cheese was something I ate because I didn't know what it was. It was better than I expected, but I'm not running back to the deli asking for more.
